“What?” Not “Who?”

Focus on getting the right people on your team and the challenges of tomorrow will already be won.In other words, stop asking “What?” questions and replace them with “Who?” questions. But once your team, your core, your circle is pinned down (which will be ever-growing, but you have to start somewhere), then, and only then, ask the hard “What?” questions. At some point, “Who?” questions are just another way of avoiding doing the next, right thing. We need to submit the hard “What?” questions to the group we’ve gathered, do the hard work of discerning answers, and move forward. You’ll know when it’s time to shift to “What?” questions when a call to action is avoided by talking about people.(Read that last line again. It’s critical.)The lawyer that asked Jesus “Who is my neighbor?”, gets a response that confirms he’s asking the wrong question: “Everyone’s your neighbor. Now what are you going to do about it? Stop asking ‘Who?’ and start asking ‘What?’".**Luke 10:25-37
