Create the Capacity

We all want to be creative, don’t we? In our workplace, in our personal lives, in our artistic endeavors.

We all want to come up with solutions no one thought about, make connections no one could see, produce what no one imagined. Who doesn’t want to do the next thing that turns heads?

We desire creativity as if it’s an ability in short supply, allocated to some but not others. It’s not the ability that's in shortage; it’s the capacity that’s missing.

Everyone has creative abilities but not everyone has created the conditions within which creative abilities can flourish. This is a capacity issue. Capacity is not doled out to some people and not others; capacity is created when we commit to making space in our lives to be the type of people that are creative.

What does that look like?

Practice. Time. Repetition.
Everyday. Day in and day out.

When creativity strikes, it either finds a home—someone that’s been showing up, diligently working in preparation for its arrival—or it doesn’t.
