Resurrection Looks Like…
[Emmaus Lessons - V]
You don’t have to be a religious person to know what resurrection looks like.
Anytime a “No” is given to darkness, death, or suffering, there resurrection is taking root.
Resurrection is not only about a person coming out of a grave (though, that’s kind of a big deal).
It’s about continuing a sentence when a period seemed the only option. It’s about taking those last few blank pages at the end of the book and writing a different final chapter.
It’s about stubbornly being hopeful when all the evidence justifies the despair. It’s about insisting on another try contrary to the evidence, contrary to popular opinion, contrary to the “experts” and the “analysts”.
It’s about uncanny generosity in the face of greed. It’s about the gift of your resources, your stuff, your imagination and talents, and your time despite your full schedule and your business dealings.
It’s about naming the pain and wounds of the most vulnerable instead of letting the noise machine that is the news do it for us. It’s about using your voice and your work to end the cause of that pain.
Resurrection knows no field, no occupation, no country or state or county.
All resurrection knows is “Yes” to life.
People like us are resurrection people.
