Weekly Roundup: Coronavirus, Again
I commit to offering heartfelt, faith-filled reflections on our common struggle, the pandemic that is the Coronavirus. I will continue to do this until is seems that my contributions are redundant or unedifying. Here is a "roundup" of the second week of Coronavirus reflections. – Ryan

Monday: Every time we share instead of buy, we make an investment into our relationship with our neighbor, and directly into the health of our community as a whole. Sharing not only saves time and money, it chips away at the idea that everyone is a pillar of independence—an idea that hurts us in times like these.
Tuesday: The passing away of the way things were—old systems, old beliefs, old worlds—is a massive loss. As a loss, it causes enormous pain. Pretending it doesn’t only inflates the hurt. Numbing the hardship only encourages the grief to come out in different, more unhealthy ways.
Wednesday: Only artists can dream of economies that don’t leave people out, governing bodies that are altruistic, and judicial systems that are not inherently racist. Only songwriters and painters and dreamers can picture a different world (at the sacrifice of their own social acceptance).
Thursday: The sun has set, Sabbath rest has begun. Rest is not laziness, it is a generative pause that not only increases productivity (important to note, but not the point) but enriches future work with purpose and perspective.
Friday: Talking about being people of faith is easy. Talking about the practicalities of being people of faith is a little more challenging. Doing faith is hard!
